Jody’s Mandated goals

Re-balance power back to the people.

How do we do this?

  • I will work with a blockchain company (not using taxpayer money) to enable direct to MP constituent voting using blockchain technology. If you are not technology savvy or cannot get out to vote. No problem, our volunteers will come to you.

  • My MP communications to you will be focused on governmental affairs that will keep you informed on bills put forward and what they mean to you, current governmental studies, policies and legislation. My communications will be informational based, not rife with mudslinging.

  • My open door policy means I will listen to you. I will share your concerns openly on the floor in parliament.

  • I will work with you to sponsor your petitions in order to make sure the people and other MP’s from across Canada can hear what is important to our people.

Expose government corruption

How do I do this?

  • I will get tough during Question and Answer Period in session. I will ask the questions that no one else has the courage to address. Starting with why all my colleagues are hiding the identity of the traitors that sit in the House of Commons.

  • I will use my position to maximize my access to legacy medias such as CBC and CPAC. I will use those platforms as a way to expose corruption and shine a light on criminal behavior. This comes from my deep belief that the Canadian people have a right to be fully informed on how their tax dollars are being spent.

  • I will create and introduce bills that are designed to plug the loopholes that allow government corruption. If a bill gets blocked I will tell you exactly how and why the bill did not go through so you have a transparent understanding of how the legislative process gets corrupted.

Bring back Canadian core values.

How do we do this together?

This is a complex problem. There are many issues to deal with. Societal change is not something I can do on my own, nor do I believe that government should be involved in social engineering. The current government has wasted too much time legislating and controlling social issues that should be left for the people to debate. Real change must come from the people of Northumberland-Clarke and, as an MP, I can assist by guiding you on how to lobby the government to remove those laws that are an obvious government over reach. Again, this is a complex problem.

Who Will Vote for Jody?

People who are tired of government overreach.

People who believe the legislative power should be returned to Canadian citizens.

People who SEE government corruption AND want to change it.

People who want an MP who are beholden to their constituents and not their party whip.

People who want their voice to be heard.

People who want to help make a positive change for Canada’s future.

People who no longer want to vote for “The Lesser of Two Evils”.

People who understand the party system only serves government and not Canadians.

Who Will NOT Vote for Jody?

People who believe that doing the same things that they have always done will somehow bring change … this time.

People who are not ready to stand up and break the cycle of fear and control .

Government works for the people. The people do not work for the government!

Voting for an independent member of parliament puts the power back back in the hands of the people. I take my orders from the people of Northumberland-Clarke and not a party whip. There are several examples of party dissenters being dismissed. If you are skeptical of thought independent members of parliament being the solution for a better future I would like to tell you that not only is it the best way foreword, but it is ACTUALLY happening in Nunavut. About Jody Ledgerwood

I was born in Cobourg, Ontario on August 19, 1974. I have two younger sisters, I also had an older brother who drowned at the age of 3 (I was 2). My parents moved around a lot when I was a child. The constant changes taught me how to make friends, be accepting of people from different backgrounds and ethnicities and above all else, to be open to new experiences and ideas.

I am a mother to 3 very independent adult children and am in a wonderful relationship of 2 years with my partner Cris Vleck.

I have an extensive professional background in many industries including:

  • Hospitality - Retail, restaurant, and event planning.

  • Collections - Collections agent for commercial, legal, and government agencies.

  • Accounting - Book keeper and C.F.O. for several small businesses.

  • Legal - Legal assistant for family law, real estate, corporate law, wills and estates law.

  • Real Estate - I have owned a local real estate brokerage for the last 15 years and a real estate agent for 18 years.

  • Entertainment - I’ve been a performer and crew member in local theatre and on film sets for 40 years.

  • Activism - I’ve spent the past 5 years exposing government corruption and educating people on their legal rights.

  • I am currently a self-employed small business owner and an executive helping to build an up and coming production company in the GTA.

Pre-covid I was an extremely active volunteer in the Northumberland-Clarke Community.

  • I engaged in athletic activity; golf, broomball, soccer, ball hockey and baseball leagues. I was a volunteer Coach with the Cramahe-Colborne Soccer Club as well as the Cobourg-Port Hope Soccer Clubs for over 15 years.

  • I was a proud 30-year member of the Northumberland Players performing on stage, crew member on set, running the Youth Theatre Camp and several years collaborating on the Board of Directors.

  • I volunteered in several of our Northumberland Schools on the Parent Councils and Fundraising Councils; as a reading buddy and for hot lunch days and I never missed being a Parent Volunteer for every Class Trip my children went on.

  • I learned a lot about the housing crisis for low-income families by volunteering to build homes in the Northumberland area with Habitat for Humanity.

  • I was a volunteer on the Board of Directors for the “NHAR” Northumberland Hills Association of REALTORS© for 8 years.

  • I was President of the NHAR Board for three years in a row.

  • I participated on many of the NHAR task forces and committees within those 8 years along with being asked to participate on two of the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board’s Task Forces and on the Task Force for the Ontario Technology and Information System.

  • The Ontario Real Estate Association invited me to join their Mentorship Program for Ontario Leaders.

  • I was on the OREA and CREA PAC (political action committee) which successfully lobbied the government on several real estate issues that had positive impacts on Canadian families.

I have attended many different religious churches through-out my life, upon reflection, chance meetings and much soul searching and questioning, I realized I had always had a relationship with God, I just had never recognized it. In April of 2023, I gave my life to Christ.

I believe in:

  • Brutal honesty, transparency and open communication

  • Ownership of one’s actions/choices good or bad

  • Giving credit where credit is due

  • Forgiveness

  • Doing no harm to humanity

  • Do unto others as you would have done unto you

  • Respectful exchanges

  • Kindness

  • Charity

  • Education – informed consent – information is power

  • Hard work

  • Inclusivity

I believe that everyone should be taught, educated on their inalienable rights as well as their constitutionally protected rights.

I believe that everyone should be taught to understand the history of not only their country but of the history of major world events that helped to get us to where we are today in the present political scene.

I believe that everyone should be taught the life skills we need in order to function as contributing adults in our society.

I believe that everyone should be taught about the human body, natural health, and how life itself is a beautiful intricacy of collaboration and dependency in order for all life to exist.

I believe that freedom/liberty/free will is essential in all aspects of life and that along with that freedom/liberty/free will, responsibility, accountability and ownership for one’s actions is an important aspect that must be respected and pursued.

I believe that freedom of speech is essential in the exchange of ideas, creativity, understanding and the evolution of humans and our future. Open, respectful debate is the key to evolving and creating solutions to problems.

I believe team work is the cornerstone to the success of a business, organization, politics and family.

I am a strong, independent woman. I ask a lot of questions before forming opinions one way or another. I have a tendency to play devil’s advocate to make sure that all angles of a situation have been covered before making a decision. I am a great listener and take copious notes to ensure I know what is going on around me. I am comfortable on the stage and with public speaking. I have had leadership courses and media training with the real estate industry and lobbied the government for many years on behalf of the real estate industry. I know, between my life experiences, both personal and professional, and my ability to connect with people, that I would make an excellent independent candidate to represent your voice; the voice of the people of Northumberland-Clarke. Please take the time to seriously consider making real change for a positive future.
